Close sales using PowerPoint and Word


Lab length: 1/2 day

 

Overview: Students will leverage the features of both PowerPoint and Word to prepare effective sales presentations.

Prerequisites: Students should first take PowerPoint: Introduction and Word: Introduction, or have equivalent knowledge, before completing this Lab.

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this Lab, students will be able to:

* Prepare for winning presentations.
* Create effective PowerPoint slides.
* Use a Word outline and other Word features to create slides.
* Apply strategies to help close a presentation.

Lab content

Lab Activity 1: Prepare for winning presentations
Define your prospects’ needs
Identify the benefits of your service or product
Focus on your key points
Get your prospect to ask questions
Lay out your presentation plan
Try it on your own

Lab Activity 2: Grab attention with PowerPoint slides
Create a Slide Master
Design the Slide Master
Select eye-pleasing fonts
Save a design as a template for future presentations
Make a Title Master
Try it on your own

Lab Activity 3: Work with Word in your presentation
Review your materials
Leverage the power of a Word outline
Create persuasive content
Insert the outline into PowerPoint
Make object linking and embedding (OLE) work for you
Try it on your own

Lab Activity 4: Deliver presentations that close
Combine your PowerPoint presentation with other delivery methods
Use PowerPoint notes
Provide handouts
Send slides to Word
Set yourself at ease
Watch for nonverbal signs
Pay attention to your speaking voice
Talk price
Learn to listen
